Prospective purchase - door handle damage
My first post here. I'm going to test drive a W220 tomorrow after deciding I will go that route (a big upgrade from my Volvo V70). I've viewed the car in the showroom and have read the threads here as to what to check.
It's 2004, 85000 miles and has full MB service history.
One thing that was unusual which I have not been able to find anything about here is that the driver's door handle chrome has flaked worn away in a small patch showing the light plastic handle underneath.
No-one here has mentioned anything similar. Is this the sign of a sub-standard part replacement do you think? Should I be suspicious.
I have found self adhesive chrome covers which would solve it, but I'm surprised I can't find anyone else mentioning this problem.
Cheers

The door handle should not be a deal breaker on an otherwise great car, but other repairs/accidents must not go unrevealed.
Good luck with the deal.
It's a 320 diesel, I'm in the UK so a 500 is very expensive to run with petrol/gas at £1.32 per litre which is $9.33 per gallon.
Cheers again

& the parking sensors didn't work when I tried 'em. Kept beeping as I pulled up behind another car at a junction (I wasn't *that* close!).
