Locks/Trunk problems
Hey everyone I have a weird problem on my hands. My mother took our 01 S430 to get the tires rotated on her recent trip to Sam's Club during her shopping and now I am livid. I don't know how this has happened but our locks do not work at all, the trunk will not open (manually, by remote, or the switch), door-pull in doesn't work, and even the button on the dash that puts the rear headrests down doesn't work anymore! I would like to know why this has happened if anyone has any input it's greatly appreciated.. I remember reading somewhere that disconnecting the battery can solve issues as such, possible blown fuses? Hoping to get this figured before our next service to avoid any large costs at the stealership

Obviously, can't answer how it happened but suspect the Pnuematic Pump based upon what you wrote. However, you say the trunk will not open "manually". Does this mean the mechanical key does not work? That would be very unusual. If the mechanical key works, I'd look for a fuse; check the fuse chart, usually with spare tire.

Can't help with the lights, but if the '01 is the same as my 2003 S430, try pulling and reinserting the 20-Amp fuse located behind the light located in the right rear passenger seat near the floor. Just pull the light unit out and look for the (usually) yellow fuse with the "20". This will reset the computer that controls the pneumatic pump.

What you wrote hinted that those function did work before the tire service.
But it may happen your mother turned the lumbar support dial at the left front of the seat, which (if the lumbar system is leaking) drains the PSE pump, and thus disables all the said functions.
Give it a try, make sure the lumbar switch dials are at 0 and give a little time to the pump to recover.
If this is no help, sadly, we have to go on with the trouble shooting.
