Climate Control - Help Appreciated
Hello... This is my secod post, help very much appreciated!
I have no error messages.. however I get warm air (light warm) even if I set the Climate Control to 56 degree...
I only get cold air if I turn the Climate Control to LOW...
My Questions:-
1. Am I getting the cold air (Climate Control to LOW) from outside because it is Winter ?
2. Possible problem with AC ?
3. Some other sensor ?

When you do a second post please go into your original post and post a reply from there. If I had not read your original I would not have known what you were talking about.
I am not sure if this will help but there is a thermister in the overhead console with a fan blowing air across it to sense the cabin temperature. On mine my system ran either full cool or full heat. I had them put the Star diagnostics on it and was told that the sensor was telling the system that it was 32 deg in the cabin. Thus LOW would be full air and anything over that would be full heat. I checked out the thermister in the overhead console and found out that it had a broken lead from someone messing around with it. I soldered the lead back together and everything has been working ever sence.

More info would be helpful..With car running and the A/C running (light on ec botton should be off. Press and hold down the rest button. After about 8-10 seconds a display of the sensor values will display. Write down the values given numbers 1-12 and also let us know the ambient air temp at the time you did this test. With these numbers we can better help diagnose a problem for you... Could be as simple as adding some refrigerant..

Also by "ambient air temp" - Did you mean the set auto temperature on display or outside temperature ?

Please re-read post #4 in this string. Iorigionaly posted instructions for system reset not for the sensor readings. It is correct now... Sorry anout that.. use the driver side temp controll to scroll through the readings..

Yes this is normal.. what number ranges are you seeing for numbers 3,4,5&7? They are the driver and passamger side heater core temp(3-4), evaporator temp(5), and refregerant pressure(7) . All 4 should fluctuate up and down as your A/C compressor swashplate angle is changing in order to keep evaporator core cold without freezing..

#1 is your in car temp sensor. It is reading 0.. the climate controll thinks the cars interior temp is 0 deg.. you need to replace the cabin air temp sensor. The evaporator temp is very cold like it should be. Because the car thinks it is colder in the car than it really is it is queing the duovalve to open and let warm engine coolant into the heater cores. Fixing cabin temp sensor will alow duovalve to close and back to cold you go! Hope this has been helpful. Keep us posted...

Sensor #5 is the evap temp sensor. Your current evap temp sensor (srnsor #5)is showing a reading. Your cabin temp sensor #1 is reading 0 was it really 0 deg. in the car? I think the first temp sensor is the one that is bad... (Sensor #1 cabin temp sensor)

This is the Part # the dealer gave when I asked for Cabin Temperature Sensor.. The other part I posted earlier was for Models 99 and older. Is this 2 in 1 Part ?

It may be because of the ambient air temp. A/C is hard to diagnose in cold weather.. Try running test again on a warmer day.. If SDS software says the problem is the evap temp sensor, I would go with that diagnosis..
