roof rack/bars compatibility
I have a trip planned for the near future and the eBay seller that I'd arranged to buy roof bars from flaked. So I'm on the hunt for a reasonably priced set of bars, but thought I'd see if there was any interchangeability across the years and models.
I found a set of rhino racks for about $350 but there's a wider selection for c-class and e-class across various years.
Anyone happen to know what can (if possible) be swapped around? I also posted an ad in the classifieds in the hope that someone has a set to sell as I'm entirely unconcerned with the general appearance (as long as they work).

What is this roof rack for? Storage? Bikes? Skis? There are cheaper alternatives if you are just looking one a trip only use. Like a trunk mount bike rack. I use a "hollywood racks" one, costs $80 holds 3 full suspension bikes perfectly. Even though it's not a good idea to make the trunk support 200 lb of bikes, for an extended amount of time.
