2007 S430 vs 2002 S430

I am looking at a 2007 S430 and thinking about selling my 2002 S 430. How much better is the 07 compared to the 02? I know the 07 had an updated Nav system and HID headlights but is there any improvement in the Airmatic system? Any improvement in reliability?
Thanks

Do you mean 2006? 2007 was a new car entirely, and the S430 disappeared from the lineup.

He said 2007, I assumed it was a 430, must be a S550.

I'd ask the W221 forum, they will have more information on the model, with a number of them having been former W220 owners.

The 2007 is the newer design w221 car and does not come as s430
Only s550 in the USA in 2007
2006 was the final year of the s430 , they are good cars

The early 2007 s550 had an engine problem that was subject of a class action

and later models were improved , only some 2007 models were affected but verify any purchase before buying to see if that car is affected

Dear sir,

I dont know u, but from what i read u seem to buy pre-facelifted version.

If u upgrade try to get the w221 facelifted. Tons of upgrades. Otherwise stick to ur mighty w220. I think it ages better, especially the facelifted ones ! If u want reliablity in an S classe, convert to coil suspension. Thats the most close to reliable.

No point in converting preemptively, of course. :)

And thats the milion dollar question in my view. A good working airmatic system is superb, iv driven mine for 8 months before the compressor faded out followed by 2 struts and valveblock...

If u travel a lot, its just a matter of time and it will fail. And the sad thing is, we dont decide WERE it failes ! A nice momentum is on friday night, standing before ur house after a hard week of work...

But it can also fail if u just departed on a 2400 km trip wich i undertake every year from the Netherlands, driving to Morocco on Holiday.
