Help to buy Catalytic Converters
Hi guys,
My 04S430 is approaching 60K miles and I definitely need either L/R Catalytic Converter or both. I am looking at Walker Direct-Fit Converters
Designed for easy installation and OE-style fit @ Rockauto. There are 3 different brands... Eastern, Davidco, and walker... they are about $300-$350. I also searched at O'reilly Manaflow about $450. My Mechanics told me to buy Direct-Fit Converters... His concern about the weld quality if we were to go with the Universal Converters.
Is it better to replace both at the same time to save the labor?
Anyone has previous experience in this subject, please share. After market or OEM? The cost is almost tripple...
Any brand recommended?
TIA

Aftermarket is fine. Get direct fit
if you are in a state with strict emissions testing you might want to get California certified cats, they usually cost more but are necessary to register the car in states like ca
