2001 S320 transmission in limp home mode

Hi My 2001 S320 is in limp home mode (wont shift out of second). Hooked up star diagnostics and it reports "unable to communicate with the TCM". 13vdc Power and ground are good on the TCM. Checked can bus signals coming out of the TCM by removing the can bus connector and connecting the terminals on the TCM to an oscilloscope. Do get can bus signal coming out of the card and the connector itself. What get I do/check to get the TCM to communicate. Do I have to replace the TCU? Pls help...Thanx.

pull the tcu out of the fuse box and look for wet wiring

fluid often wicks its way up the wires

also get a new conductor plate and filter kit with the connector that allows the fluid to leak into the wiring
