Windshield washer nozzles

Are the windshield washer nozzles adjustable? One of the nozzles, either driver side or center, is spraying above the top of the windshield and onto the roof.

If they are adjustable, how does one go about by adjusting them? I was thinking of using a thin piece of metal and inserting into the nozzle and moving it, or perhaps a pair of needle nose pliers?

Yes, they are adjustable, and yes, there is a tool for that. If I remember correctly from a glimpse of a photo long ago, the MB tool is basically a thin rod about 18" long with a short, very thin pin sticking out of one end. The pin goes into the nozzle, the long rod shows where the stream starts, and you just move the little ball nozzle around to put the stream where you want it.

Since I don't have the tool, I use the smooth end of a tiny drill bit, and guess where the stream will go. I usually have to move the nozzle several times.

BTW - I find it amusing that some folks deliberately adjust one nozzle to shoot over the top of the car to discourage tailgaters.

Thanks Wally. I'll try adjusting them with a small drill bit later this weekend.
