Cup holder housing

Im not talking about the cup holder itself, i figured out how to take this portion out. This over complicated cup holder is housed in another console with the top lid cover that has a soft close/open sliding function. How do i take this off? Do I need to take out the center console for this?

The top plate is broken and where it sits is also broken. its almost loose and the soft close and open sliding is caput

how do i take this whole thing off?

7 Unclip cup holder cover (4) from side guide pins in cup holder housing (2) and remove from gate
8 Open stowage compartment ventilation flap (9) and unhook bottom actuation
9 Unclip stowage compartment ventilation flap (9) at top and bottom from stowage compartment and remove upward
10 Unclip front stowage compartment cover (7) from stowage compartment (5) and remove from side guides
11 Unclip front stowage compartment floor from front stowage compartment (5)

Do like I did, rip the cup holder out and still use it as a cup holder without the mechanical stuff inside.

yeah I thought about that but the problem is that the fancy sliding cover is caput. It doesn't close properly and its very wobbly and the tabs for the wood trim cover is out. In other words, I have to replace the whole thing out.
