Parts car

I'm going to a scrapyard that has a 2003 s430 for parts to repair my 01.

Is there anything I should get from the car that I don't need currently?
I was thinking of grabbing the PSE, and some other things.

Much depends upon the price of the parts. Pull-A-Part prices are usually an order of magnitude cheaper than regular yards that charge more for M-B parts. As an example, I scored like-new (in appearance) front and rear struts (one each) for $35 each. and a nice Airmatic pump with attached valve block for $35. At those prices, you get virtually anything that you have room to store...

I would grab trim peices and covers that easily break from improper removal (will need to do research on how to properly remove) since they have plastic clips or parts that can be easily broken. Those peices usually cost a lot and it's annoying to have to pay OE prices since they usually don't make it to eBay or at least for a reasonable price.

Peices I needed that I wish I had access include:
- engine cover
- rear arm rest trim
- rear center console trim/cover
- front driver door wood trim
- shifter surround trim
- glove box button
- passenger seat massage controls

I had to buy new OE or patiently track down in eBay.

All of those on my car were damaged from improper removal

I played it safe and only grabbed a few things that needed. As soon as I got back home, I checked the instrument cluster on my car, and it had 130,000 miles on it. it was reported to have 45,000 on it two years before it was crashed.
So I'm pretty sure it isnt worth it to strip all the airmatic and PSE parts off it. The trunk latch turned out to be broken same as mine too.
But I at least got the instrument cluster for 25 buck, just have to figure out how to copy my miles over to it.
