2005 S430 Navigation update?
My father in law has a 2005 S430 and knows nothing about cars, so he has never updated the navigation system's maps. I dont know much about MB, so looking for help outside of going to the stealership.
From what I have gathered, I will need to get an updated COMMAND CD as well as the updated Navigation DVD. Can anyone tell me which versions are the latest available for this car, and best place(s) to get them online?

The newest and final update for the NTG-1 Comand system is DVD V15.0. Part #T 1000-23902 on the Navigation.com website. The problem you might have using this disc is the potential for missing firmware updates. Over the years people on this site have reported mixed experience when a large number of intermediate updates were skipped. When I had my two cars with the NTG-1 system I updated the discs every other year and never had any problems.
This update disc can be found by searching on a 2007,8 or 9 E class. For some unexplained reason it is not listed under the S class even though it is the correct disc for the 2004 through 2006 S class. I also recommend you do a search of this forum on the subject of NTG-1 updates. There are many, many posts and threads covering peoples experience.
