AC Evaporator Cleaning
There is a recommended procedure in WIS for this job (AR83.30-P-5555T and/or AR83.30-P-5556A) but I can't find specific info for the W220. A dealer quoted me $700.
There are very special tools and chemicals for this job, but there's also this:
from Germany that's an order of magnitude cheaper and that I plan on using on the evaporator.
Part of the $700 quote included the replacement of all four cabin air filters.
So basically I can't find any info on this job and I'm wondering if someone else has done it.

To me the filters are a separate job, especially the charcoal filters which I never really use.
The reason for the cleaning is poor AC performance, even after replacing the pump and servicing the entire unit. Either the mixture flap is stuck, which I don't believe is the case, or the evaporator core is dirty.
This will give you access to the back of the evaporator core (in terms of airflow direction), and then I used . Foam it up and let it sit for 20 minutes per the instructions. It should drain out through the drain tubes, then you put the AC on high.
Fingers crossed this works and restores good cooling to the car w/o breaking anything.
