Coding/wireing issue on 05 s500 w220.175 and 722.9

The wiring harness can easily be damaged during the removal of the center console. There is a tab in the little storage box at the front you need to push down and out so the wiring harness for the transmission unit doesn't get crushed. That's where you can measure continuity from btw.
If it's not a wiring harness problem, pretty much your only option is to have it towed to the mercedes dealership and have them replace the unit at a cost of ~$1500 unfortunately.


If you don't know how to use a multimeter, go on-line and search how to use multimeter You will find many videos teaching you how to test for continuity, resistance, voltage, etc. If you can't/won't do that, you will not be able to fix the car.
If you have the connectors mixed up (that's actually hard to do), you need to research how to follow wiring color codes.
As tusabes says, you can't do the flashing.

I am aware the brown cable is messed up, as I don't suffer from blindness. Fortunately it's the grounding cable and the connection appears solid.
