side shots of the exterior look amazing, the car looks great, but its just a piece of **** when it comes to the interior. what the hell were they thinking, why the hell would they put i drive in it, the audi a8 concept is the greatest. and as far as im concerned, the shifter being put beside the steering wheel makes it look like your dads old work van. and the steering wheel looks like ****. Daimler Chrysler really knows how to **** **** up

All I can say, is that after all the anticipation, design is ok but not great. Looks a little like different parts/designs from several different cars and designers put together to form a vehicle rather than one sleek, unified, flowing design. Interior, a definite decline from the current model and a bit austere looking, similar to but better than the BMW 7. The Audi A8L certainly looks more cohesive in its design flow and definitely has a better interior. Hopefully the live version will look better, sometimes photos do not do a car complete justice.

The spyshots above in which you can see the lines of the car and the fender flares looks decent. The back seems like an afterthought IMO but seeing it in person might change my mind. Wish they could have been more bold in their styling but looks like they are trying to please the masses with their conservative styling. At least add some Chrome tips standard like the CLS and other vehicle in it's class.
Hopefully it looks better in person as we're ready to trade in our '02 S500 for the 2nd year of the W221 production.

I find it so hard to beleive they copied BMW so much in the interior, and moved to I-drive-esque platform. I love my car and how there is an actual knob for most everything. Audi got it right.
Anyone else think that the front end looks like the current LS430? From the side, it looks like a CLK DTM.... or new ML.
Hopefully it turns out better in person. I hate the BMW 7 dash layout, and this isn't far from it.
What is going on with everyone botching the @ss of their cars these days? Audi is the only decent one now.

It looks good, we've got the 15th or 16th buildspot at the Sugar Land dealership. Interior looks dissapointing, and out of all cars, I'm currently biased towards the A8, totally flawless.

Wow, the new S-class looks really great! Especially on the photo where it says "S-Klasse". The red one taken from slighly above. Just put some AMG-rims on it, and it's ready to go!

Bruno Sacco come back, please!
what moron at mercedes thought that suv ugly fender "flares" would look good on an s-class?
What moron at mercedes thought that a steering wheel with play station buttons would be a good design element?
WHAT moron at mercedes thought that going back to a column shift was a good idea?

where is the info on the A/C settings for passenger and driver like what is the current temperature, atleast at the minimum they should have a had a small read out for that.
Other than that I think the car is great.

I reckon the exterior looks fantastic. Whilst it is not as well resolved as the Audi, the Audi would look very old indeed next to this car and the BMW 7-Series. Also, bear in mind Audi's current design direction - just as controversial.
The interior in my view is okay except for that screen. But I sat there for a while and thought about where they should have put it. The fact is they had to put it higher. The current one is too low in my families opinion, takes eyes off the road, the same could be said of the Audi. In view of that I guess it makes sense - although it does not make it any more aesthetically pleasing!
Seeing it in the flesh will be the real test I guess, I look forward too it.
