MB should be ashamed for copying BMW7 so much

Yes the tide is turning, check out German Car Fans Forums. The comments started off as mixed and have gotten very positive. I have to see the car in person to really tell, but the interior has grown on me, still I have to admitit is a little minimalist for my taste. The part of the car I have not adjusted to is the large wheel wells, otherwise I like it.

i don't know (or care) about the German Car Fans forum but judging from the reaction here I don't sense a great deal of enthusiasm for this redesign. Looks like an abortion to me.

I guess I agree that as long as it's "best" for the consumer, it's not that big a deal that makers "copy" others' ideas. But where does the line stop? Bringing in technology is one thing, but the layout of the W221 interior really does look extremely similar to the E65. Sure, there are differences, and it's quite possible MB has succeeded in making their interior "work" better than BMW's, but if one car's exterior styling is beautiful, would y'all really think it okay for another to copy that? (I suspect not, since there are a ton of posts *****ing about Lexus's MB-derivative styling on this forum.) If not, are interiors the only fair game? Anyway, just some food for thought...
