Compared to the W220 do you find the W221 mirror's to small?

I mean the tapered end of the mirror, i much prefer the 220's mirrors.Or is it something you get used to.

I do not have my S550 yet, but I find the mirrors on the S430 small enough. Hard to believe that MB, the safety inovators, would further sacrifice safety for looks, or whatever. The large door posts + smaller mirrors certainly do not help safe lane changing. Just my opinion on the subject.

I've noticed the same thing on the MLs. In 98-01, they wre pretty big (no signals integrated yet). In 02-05, they got a little smaller (signals integrated then). Then the new ones, 06-present they look smaller, although no one has done any "research" to see if they have actually gotten smaller.

Might just be the housing for the mirror thats getting smaller not the glass, I know they downsized the interior W140 mirror, when I got a brand new one it's a good 1cm smaller it was kinda annoying because of how wide the car is but you get used to it.

Yeah. I hate cars that have mirrors that are just big enough for the whole rear windscreen. I need a little bit more of the rear interior of the car for me to feel better. It's a mental thing.

Yea your right you are mental. I like to see a bit of the interior too, particulary to keep an eye on whats going on on my freshly conditioned leather in the back, muthaf&$kers! sit still in there.
