Hey all,
have not posted in a very long time, but the time has come to replace the S500 with an S550. Sticking with the 4Matic. The dealer is saying:
Obsidian Black with Grey/Dark Gray Leather. Base price: $88,750. Plus Premium P1A: Active Ventilated Seats, Front $1,250 plus Sirius Radio. Sub total $90,000. Plus Delivery $775 plus Gas Guzzler Tax (Federal) $1,300 for a total of $92,075.
They will knock off 2075 for a price of 90000. OR a lease of $1499 a month.
Also i have an SL500 which i am ready to sell to them, probably get $ >60k for that. So my question is...is $90k a good price or $1500m?

I was in a similar situation as you are now.

I traded my '04 SL500 with the AMG Sport package, and less than 10,000 miles on the odometer, and only got mid $50's from the dealer, partly due to the time of the year here in the northeast.

I did receive a bigger discount of $5,800 on a rear wheel drive S550 with options that came to an MSRP of $105,800 including the $1,000 gas guzzler ($1,300 on the 4matic as you'd mentioned), so I took the plunge and ordered the car (Black Opal on Savanna Cashmere premium) last week for Feb/Mar delivery.

Given that the car you're interested in is a 4matic, the smaller discount seems to correctly reflect what my dealer told me: that 4matics are much more in demand than the RWD S550s and the discounts given are much smaller than what I received for my ordered car.

If you want to check their math for your lease, you can try www.leaseguide.com and use their calculator function. You'll need the MSRP and the negotiated price, plus info like money factor or interest rate and the residual, plug them into the calculator and hopefully the numbers reflect what they quoted you.

they'll deliver the car to your driveway ...a member on the board who lives in NY bought a car from Glauser and had no complaints...if you cant find anyone that can beat Glauser's deal...I'd say go with em and try getting free shipping
