Does the flash update fix the navigation setting so we don't have to accept ranges...
instead of actual addresses on the navigation. Or Is there a setting to get the actual address entered in navigation.

I made a post last night about this but it vanished for some reason. I went to my dealer today and they said the flash was not available yet for the 2007 models. Is yours a 2007 model? I see that your signature says you drive a 2007. Just want to make sure.
If you got your flash update done, then their is a miss in the communication within the Benz world as they keep saying to me it's not available yet.
I'll PM you for more details.
Thanks,
Dave

Yes - 2007.

Anyone know what the trick is to getting the update?
I've now tried a second time with another service guy, and his response was I need to go through Tele-aid as they provide that service.
Can anyone who's gotten the update let me know what approach you used with your dealership?
Thanks in advance,
David

Why can't they simply say "I don't know" when they don't know. Why start telling fairy tails. Why make life even further complicated for the customer. I don't think this helps the parts guy's life really either. I hope Eddie's advice solves your case.

minor update
Hi Guys
My Service Advisor said to me that the TRAFFIC UPDATES is all on A disc which is loaded into the car.
I have every reason to believe him.
It must be a program as well as a database which hooks up to the car's hardrive and satelight GPS.
My disc was on back order - but should be in tomorrow.
I will of course keep you all posted!
If anyone has questions and wants to speak with a S.A that WILL in fact say he doesnt know in the event he needs to find out some info - I will direct you to my guy.
I have asked him MANY questions over the years - most of the time he knows the answer right away, but sometimes he has to check it out - and will tell me up front, he does not know.
ie - Can the S63 Shift Paddles be put in my S550 ?

My first service adviser managed to order the part number on your post. When the DVD arrived, there was about a 20 minute debate between my service guy and the parts guy about how to install the update.
They eventually settled that it was my problem to install, and I did do the install as instructed in the owner's manual and in the clamshell for the DVD.
The DVD was version 3.0 and the only change I noticed was that when you are being told to stay on a freeway, or to get onto another one, it shows you which lanes of traffic continue and which don't.
I think I'm screwed until I can find a service guy who knows anything about my car. Both guys kept saying that they just have to swap the CD in the trunk, it didn't matter that I kept repeating that is an HD based system now and that the software gets copied over to the HD.
If anyone gets this done in Southern California, please let me know and I will try to use your service adviser.
Thanks,
David

Sorry to dissapoint - but the Disc was NOT in when I went in today.
HOWEVER, I will not forget my fellow W221 friends - the moment I get it - I will let you all know the situation.
I am putting the Search and Send feature on the car. You go to Google / Yahoo Maps - work your destination - and click SEND TO CAR - and then you download it when u get into the car.
Very neat option!
Promise to keep you posted - !!!!!
