I've noticed on E-bay Motors that MB Westminster has two 040 Black S600s with designo interiors. One has the designo Sand interior from the Espresso Edition, and the other has the designo Porcelain trim from the Mystic White Edition. I've never seen this before. Is it something newly available from MBUSA or some special order?
While I've never been all that over taken by Mystic White, I can't imagine paying that kind of money for Black and not getting Mocha Black. Dark browns are so rare today. Lexus has had metallic whites standard since day one. I could maybe see it if it were more of a pearl like Audi came out with in the mid-80's. However, most pearl attempts tend to look like a dirty white unless the sun hits them just right. Just my personal opinion. I don't want to offend anyone..

 

MB did loosen the Designo ordering for 2008. You can put the Designo interiors with standard exteriors this year. The only "packaged" car is the Mystic White 038 color exterior. If you want 038 Mystic White paint it must be ordered with the Porcelain interior. If you wanted let's say Barolo Red with Porcelain or Sand inside, you can do that now.

These combinations - Espresso and Mystic - are two of the three available for us in the USA by MBNA on '08 S550 & S600. The third is Graphite. These were also available in 2007 with one modification in the Espresso edition - Armagnac leather instead of Sand. In my opinion, the Armagnac was a more 'striking' leather color which set the interior apart. The rest of the world (including Canada) can order from a broad selection of unique Designo interior and exterior colors - but for a price. But MBNA feels that, given the large amount of leasing here, the re-marketing of 'odd' color vehicles will make it difficult for them to sell after these cars come back from the initial lease. Thus, MBNA has put together three Designo combinations which can't be modified or altered, so as to give our market at least a small 'taste' from their broad Designo palette. For your money, in addition to three special exterior colors (mystic, mocha, graphite) and woods (piano black, maple, oak), you can get three Designo premium leather in areas not otherwise covered in leather on the S550 (but ARE in the S600). There are extra details (notice the stitching & bumps on the upper doors / stitched rows on seats /Designo badge on seat back) which are not found on the S550 even if you order 'special premium leather". This detail was even missing even on the non-Designo editions 2007 S600. The special stitching patterns of the 2007 Designo is now standard on all S600 leather interiors (even non Designos). The 2008 S65 has now the unique cross-pattern stitching (Bentley Mulliner-type) on the seats and doors. The 2007 S65 basically looked like the normal 2007 S600 interior but with AMG seats. If as MB Westminster claims there has been a liberalization of the Designo rules for this year, it is not found in the 2008 S class brochure and has to be incredible good news (which I hope others can & will confirm). Is this also true for MY08 S65's?

 

I confirmed that (in Canada) MY08 S550,S63 will get "smooth" door panel, MY08 S600 will have the "bump" on the door panel and the MY08 S65 will get the diamond pattern on the door panel. The following equipment description is the detail offer for the S63.

The website removed the designo build option. At least I can't find it. It used to be at step 1 where the color choice is. Has anyone seen it on MBUSA site?

 

I have a 2007 Designo Mocha S550 w/AMG. The interior is AMAZING. I love the Armangac color. However, I put the car up for for someone to take over the lease, and was successful at it.

Waiting for my 2008 Aston Martin Vantage to arrive. Go for the Designo!

I agree completely. I love the dash and how it slopes upward. Very clean console area.
How much does a car like that cost? I've never seen one and wouldn't even know where to get one in my area.
That may be what replaces my car in a few years.

 

Car lists out at $134,000. Got it for $125,000 (I hired the former co-owner of the dealership . Car is amazing, can't wait for it (4 more long weeks to go).

 

Very nice, although I'm sad to see your S-Class go. That is exactly what I would have ordered: designo Espresso with AMG package. The Aston is great though. Is that picture you posted the interior on the DB9 or the Vantage? I thought only the DB9 had automatic trans with the buttons on the dash.

Both the Vantage and DB9 have SportShift. That is the exact car...just not mine . I'm not doing a lease, but he payments would be around $2,400 i believe.

nice Vantage, is this the new one with the bigger engine. I am not too familar with Aston Martins. The vantage looks nice without the the fugly rod sticking out the top, looks like the one in the picture does not have one
