Re-Painting my 2007 S65 HHEELLPPP
Suggestions on where to get it painted? I don't care about price or location.
I can't believe your dealer did it for free... Mine charged me 200 bucks and kept the updated Disc (Not that I needed it anyway)...

got any pix to show us so we can get a better idea of the damage?
I wish you lived in my area because I have a man that can perform miracles on MBs. Just too far away to come here I know.

Any car is disposable/obsolescent after 5-10K mis/6-12mos anyway....
Post-factory work is typically suboptimal anyway vs robotics/automation of factory, esp re: paints, etc.....and price oppty cost of one's time vs mtce downtime/hassles.....

True , but to take a $50K loss does not offset any minor post-factory work deficiencies. Some of these guys can do some seriously good work in repairs and if love2ski is planning on keeping the car, I'd keep it, get it fixed and move on. If I knew who did the bodywork, knew the reputation, I would not hesitate at all to purchase a repaired car like this (with a discount of course). But you're right, nothing beats the factory method of painting but folks like me can't afford a $50K loss in a trade.
Overall, this whole thing is a serious misfortune to say the least.

Did you get your car repaired/repainted? What's the latest?

How much are wanting for it? It looked damn good in that picture I stumbled on in that "other" forum. You did a great job with it, that's for sure.
Honestly, I wish you would keep it.

2007 S65 13 months (woot woot)!
2008 Super Charged Range Rover (Currently 2 weeks)
You buy a car out of state. The dealer sends you the MSO/MCO and expects you to register the car with your state. You don't, thus, saving you sales tax and registration. You can also sell/trade cars this way as well.
This works well if you have large sums of cash (which the OP does) and do not need to finance or lease the car.
Getting pulled over and fined for not registering the car is pennies compared to sales tax and registration heh.
Either that or he has a dealer (wholesale or retail) license.
