08 s600 or 07 s65

08 S600. Plenty enough power as is and you get updated COMAND and blind spot assist. The only major thing you'll not get is the exhaust note from the S65, but in return you keep a few more dollars in your pocket to get a few mods if you like (like improved wheels).
Overall, a very tough decision. Whichever way you go will not be a mistake.

2007 S600. 2005 Carrera GT. 2007 Range Rover SC. 2008 BMW X5. 1967 SS Chevelle.
I have no problems at all with my 07 S600 brakes, did you ever get your brakes checked? My 600 stops better than most cars I have ever driven.

Exactly. If I were privileged to be standing next to the two side by side, I'd probably choose the 65. Keep in mind, I've never driven a 65 so my comments are strictly from reading the forum. No real life experience comparison. I have to enjoy the 65 vicariously through WSH and some of you guys

First, we're splitting hairs....S600/65 are each among world's leading cars...
Aesthetically and technically, would strongly prefer a new car over any used car...no one "needs" either of these cars, so why skimp?
Only live once....get a 65...
To an enthusiast, a 65's chassis precision/stability; brake pedal feel; sport seats' grip in twisties; exhaust note; optics of body kit/brake calipers/wheels/exhaust tips, etc are worth every penny of incremental cost....
Agree, 600 brakes are a major step-up from 550 brakes; but, after driving any S/CL63/65, hard to ever feel very satisfied w/600 brakes....
BTW, will have to convince our pal, trumpet, to test-drive an '09 S65 on an interesting road....suspect he will quickly become addicted....he's already a tq junkie...sounds like mid-cycle-refreshed, '10 S65 is arriving by next Summer, trumpet....has your name written all over it....

For roughly the same money?? 65.
Pro: Looks, Looks, Looks, performance, performance, sound as a proper V-12 should.
Con: one year older. 600 is enough performance.
As WSH says you only live once.
65. then you'll know there will be no regret.

I was always told(and do believe) that there are three things in this world a man can never have to much of and one of those is horsepower.

This is a good decision to have... The only reason I can think of not to go for the S65 is if you do not have access to the original factory (or equivalent quality) warranty as you would not be the original owner - ie: is the 08 S600 new from the dealer?
From what I have read on this forum, circumstantially the 6.0 AMG V12 seems to need a little more care and attention (more frequent engine oil changes etc) but I would not worry too much... I assume it is still a pretty low mileage vehicle. Do you have full confidence in the history of this S65 and how it was driven for whatever miles it already has?
...if so, and if the prices are about equal go for it!
