this one is really killer! ... maybe black or silver color would fit a lil better but this is just great ... will you make some high resolution photos?

SonnyJ Apr 14, 2009 02:01 PM

Are you serious. This thing is hideous. I can't believe people ruin such a fine automobile with bull**** body kits like this.

TDwayne69 Apr 14, 2009 03:34 PM

+1, I agree with Sonny. The car itself looks good, but the wheels really take away from the car. I like the idea of a large lip, but the way Asanti achieved it in my opinion, seems to be a failed design. The pictures of the wheels on their website look good, but when you actually see them on the car they look very odd. Maybe its the color combination.

+1 Agree with SonnyJ and TDwayne69; Maybe it's just me who doesn't like the S-Class with such additional pomp. Sorry... just doesn't do it for me. I am thinking of upgrading my 08 to the latest Facelift if it ever becomes available. That would be a KILLEr upgrade imho.

usctrojans1 Apr 15, 2009 01:48 AM

Looks awful!

jagata Apr 15, 2009 02:01 AM

My creedo is less is more and more is tacky, difintely not for me. As long as the owner likes it than that all that matters.

capitalexpress Apr 15, 2009 01:15 PM

Looks hot!! Not sure about the front but the rest of it is off the hook
Much rather have this than a stock 550 just sittin on 22s
Any plans on lowering it?

Oxygen Apr 15, 2009 02:26 PM

Okay, forget about the actual car because it looks like a matchbox toy... talk to me about this remote start thing?

Lafiro Apr 15, 2009 02:37 PM

I don't like that, not one bit. I don't understand the color combination of the rims for one(such a big ugly lip, maybe thats what causes that effect on the car), but the body kit itself just takes away from the cars true nature in general.

I mean I guess you can say if you want the rear to look the way it is now, get a real AMG, or for the carbon fiber, a Black Series.

When it comes to asthetics... I stay neutral... Its our job to build a car to customer specs, and to do it well... This person was not a fan of chrome, liked big lipped wheels, wanted a body kit that wasen't the Lorinser....

When he came to pick it up, we pulled the sheet off of it like pimp my ride and he was like.. "Thats my car" lol... He was very pleased...

Thats what its about, pleasing one person at a time...

Keep the like it/hate it comments coming.... Im just here to show the work as we do it and to show that we are a full service shop that can handle brake pads to body kits...

I have to say that the pictures do it no justice...

thanks for looking :y

do you mind sharing what the total was on the customer's invoice?

SonnyJ Apr 16, 2009 03:06 PM

Tunetime, no one is taking away from your work. Looks like you do some amazing stuff!
It's probably the customer who needs to know the comments !

Your work is great, the kit and wheel color comnbo, not so much...

One more thing. I have 22" Asanti af144's on my ride, but not the ELT version. Might be because of color choice, but the big lip makes them look much different from mine.

I know... lol... Its made your way every day....

Its funny, the black lip really grew on me...

+1 Though I am not a big fan of WALD, I think the workmanship is superb! I'll definitely get my 10' facelift done at your shop... if it ever comes out.

Mercedes22 Apr 17, 2009 05:33 AM

As i mentioned in the previous thread

illmeth0d Apr 17, 2009 07:43 PM

I think the height it throwing the look off , if it was dumped and tucked it would look much better , it probably also looks better in person.

irieblue Apr 18, 2009 05:33 PM

This is the second Photo i've seen of a Silver S550 where you see what parts were painted.. I don't know if this is the camera CCD reflecting light differently, or if it has to do with the fact that no aftermarket shop can ever reproduce the conditions of Mercedes's in house paint shop. In The picture at the link below -- the "shade" of the right front fender and front bumper don't seem to match the rest of the car (it seems a shade brighter).

Have people commented on the match in person? Did you think the same thing when you looked at the photo?

I ask this because I have an Andorite Grey W221 and have been thinking of swapping out the front bumper to the S63 version, and am not sure how it will look? Do you bake the parts in your paint booth?

it is the camera and the lighting... The sun was setting, so its looks brighter in some parts.... The owner was very picky, (which he should be).... We painted alot on this car to make it match correctly... Black, crystal white are easy colors... The Alabaster white, silvers are harder ones to match.. I usually dont paint just the bumper.... All these pieces were blended into the doors and rear quarters the right way.... The color matches perfectly....

Looks ok but are you sure the rear lip is 9.75"? looks more like 5-6", I seen lambo's with 7" + lips and you could hardly see the face of the rim (looks more like a barrel), this one sticks out like on any rim.

I believe they achieve the lip size from the convex center design, so really not a true lip size IMO.
