Bergen County, NJ Service?

I just bought a new 2009 C300 and I'm hearing service costs an arm and a leg. What's the least expensive place for service - that would be MB approved?:nix: Thank you in advance for your input.

I don't believe MB USA would approve any outside vehicle service provider - especially if there are warranty work involved.

Others may chime in but that is my understanding.

Personally, I've always used my local dealer for service work when the car is within its manufacturer's warranty period and factored the cost of service and maintenance into the total cost of ownership when consider the lease/purchase of a new car.

FWIW, BMW offers free maintenance during its 4 year warranty period on new cars - likely factored into the cost of the car but there is no out of pocket expense for regular maintenance.

Thank you for responding to my question but!

I know that MB USA would not likely approve non MB dealers - but - can I get some feedback as to prices Prestige MB vs Nanuet MB re 10,000 mile service, etc. Thanks

PS - I didn't want a BMW, but when I hear $300 for an oil change - I begin to sweat!!

I recently had service done to my S550. I was quoted over $400. at Prestige and I actually paid $250. ish at Nanuet. Prestige has always been a rip off. I got chrome door handle inserts for my wifes gl450 from them, I asked about install and was quoted $150., some bs about how they had to do this and that.
I went to my local bodyshop and they installed them in 20 min. and I gave the guy $50.

Thank you so much!!!!

:rolf::rolf::smash::bs::rolf::rolf:That's exactly the kind of feedback i wanted. I feel better now - sweats have stopped - have a great weekend!!!

I am a Prestige customer and actually have found a different, more pleasant experience.

I just had my E63 serviced, it asked for a D service, which is apparently close to $1,000 - but after looking at my mileage (only 18,XXX) and the FSS detail, the service adviser put me through a B service which covered most of the important items and honored a coupon special for $399...which I thought was a nice tough.

And this has been the experience with myself and my family, who've also had several cars through Prestige MB.

As always, YMMV...

Coupons - where - how???

This is a whole new vista for me. Are there coupons for service for for my baby benz. Anyone know how to get on the list for them - for the NYC region??

Prestige is awful.

I've had very good experiences with Frank Scott at Benzel Busch in Englewood.

2nd that, Benzel is probably the best dealership we have in the area. Everyone is great, Scott is a good guy and Ralph is also a great advocate. Their best technicians at Benzel are Terry and Andreas and they both are always willing to come out and talk, bring me back into the service bay and even discuss issues on the phone. One of the techs even string coded the paddle shifting function into my ecu.

They are reasonable and have been amazing on my warranty services. I recently had an incident where they messed up some new aftermarket wheels I had and they sent them right out and paid for them to be fixed out in California. All around good people, good dealership and overall the experience that you are looking for in owning a Mercedes Benz.

And a quick comparison, I recently needed a set of stock lug nuts, I had lost mine as a result of switching between so many aftermarket wheels on my cars. Presitge in Paramus is alot closer to me than Benzel, so I call Prestige they want 110$$$ for a set of stock lug nuts?! I call Benzel, those same lugs are $55. Go to Benzel and don't look back.
