They will discount AMG's a bunch. Look for one that is 2 years old CPO'ed for another 2 years and you get a great deal on a great car that looks current.

Once again, you're completely missing the point. I've driven the car for a year, so it's absolutely moot to be jealous of someone who gets a "better" deal on a year old car. These "deals" cannot be compared by definition; the depreciation is what I (and other early 2010 buyers) agreed to when we acquired the vehicles.

It feels that the discussion has gone completely off topic, so I am going to wrap it up from my end. For the benefit of the OP, I repeat that I consider the $22K discount a good deal. Ultimately, it is up to him on what to pay for the car.

There is no "smoke and mirrors" regarding the discount. Everyone in the US getting a 2010 should be receiving similar quotes. Benz is giving dealers back more than half that amount on 2010 550's as they prepare for 2011 launch. Add in dealer's typical discount and voila, you are there. It's a no brainer if you can still find the one you want with options you want IMO.
