Key Battery Replacement
Just got the warning showing up on my screen that I need to replace the battery in my keys for an 07 S550. Called the dealer they told me it was about $20 bucks per key. I'm wondering, is it just a watch battery? and also is it hard to put the new battery in?

The battery part number is CR2025.
You need two of these per key.
They can be purchased for under $2.00 each

These are the same batteries the dealer sells. The only difference is the outer package which says Mercedes. The batteries are marked with the name of a major batteries are marked with the name of a major battery manufacturer.
It is a little tricky to get the key fob open to replace the battery. Follow the instructions in the owner's manual carefully. You may have to use a little force to get access to the battery. I has to put a string through the key ring hole and pull to get it open while inserting the key as shown in the instructions to cause the compartment to open.
