Can dealer activate Speed Limit Assist?
 

Hi there,

My car came with most of the options except one that i wish i opted for. It's called Speed Limit Assist, this basically allows the car to read speed limit signs and display the last read sign on the instrument cluster.

I've read that it uses the camera that's normally used for nightvision, so surely the dealer could activate it via SDS?

Anyhelp would be great, maybe benzNL might know something?

It uses a camera on the inside of the windshield. I'm not sure if it's tied with the night vision or its own unit but unlikely the hardware is there on your 2007. Especially considering MB added the feature for 2009.

I actually discovered something. I have C63 2012 UK version here in New Zealand. The speed limit assist was working until I been to MB to load NZ map. Since then when i go to speed limit assist menu it keep saying unavailable in your country. Im sure it got something to do with NZ map. Also the NZ C63 don't even have this option in cluster.

Im sure there will be a way to activate it back to what it was. But Mb says the NZ map will disable it automatically.

I have the same problem with Turkey Map. Once I installed the map, speed limit assist deactivated. I tried to reach Mercedes Customer Services but no one answered... There must be a solution to activate it again...

So it works in your country, was it available in Australia?

Would love to get this feature going, already had about three speeding fines :S

There is a hardware unlock solution to enable SLA (Speed limit assist) in countries where it is limited via daimler.

Can you please tell us what the hardware unlock is, how to do it via service menu or SDS ?

You will need DAS developer access. Just enable it in ZGW and IC and don't forget to reset IC once you save coding. Country where you live must have same speed signs as in EU othervise it will not work.
