Howto Replace Scratched Doorsills
This is a very easy one: you need a nylon wedge to be able to pry the sill off.(see pic)
Partnumbers thanks to Chris the Swede in his thread:
Left front 221-680-01-35-7G50
Right front 221-680-02-35-7G50
Beware: as the last four digits indicate the color and since mine are beige partno. changes into
Left front A221 680 01 35 8K67 etc.
The whole sill comes off as one piece with plastic etc. the new part comes with new clips so no need to order them seperately.
Just push the wedge carefully between the carpeting and the plastic starting on the front side then work your way carefully backwards and the sill pops off at once including the plastic clips.
Then carefully put the new sill in place and gently push down to clip in place.
Job done !

meh, these things are like chrome painted plastic. I've tried polishing these things, and it wasn't terribly effective.
These things are expensive for what they are, but if you want it perfect, you may just want to replace them.

Silly me thinking they may actually be polished aluminum.

Nick,
How do you find the doorsills/doorsill plates. I searched and got nothing.

I have a W221 with sport plus one package. I wish to replace the door sill scuff plates and have found the appropriate part numbers to order. However, I was wondering if S63/S65 sill plates that say AMG instead of MB ... are those also an exact fit?
