Please Help! Has anybody ever had their CASTER on alignment way off oem specS??
Subscribeso after I put new wheels on I realized my caster on my alignment is way off because one of my wheels is touching the inside of bumper when I turn? the alignment machine read +6.1 on one side and then +9.1 on passenger side, will a simple Bolt kit for alignment from dealer fix this issue? MB mechanic says if I get bolt kit it wont make much of difference? is this true?
Also my Sunroof came off its track and would not close, my CPO warranty did not cover that specific part so im out $350.00 out of pocket, do these sunroofs typically do that?is it common?

Kmac has camber/caster adjustment kits for our cars. I just had my rear camber/caster kit installed in my rear. Because I had some uneven wear from being too low.

Check your wheel base dimension on both sides with front wheels accurately straight ahead. If track is different on front and rear, use shims to pack out parallel strings to align front wheels straight ahead. The steering wheel should be level too. Compare actual measurement to factory dimensions in your owner's manual. If they are more than about 5 mm different, I suspect at least one is off, then you need to see a frame straightener to get wheelbase normal before aligning. Then if you are still a little bit off, you can try a bolt kit. On a C220, I had 2 cm less wheel base on the right and it pulled left. Moving the right wheel forward corrected most of the problem. Sitting on level ground you can make a preliminary check by putting one or more fingers or an inside caliper beteen the tires and fenders to see if they are roughly the same.Originally Posted by S500 Man

Mercedes CPO warranty does cover sunroof. See http://extendedlimitedwarranty.merce...rage-documentsOriginally Posted by S500 Man

Try another dealer if your dealer insists in charging for sunroof repair. The only justification for sunroof repair is if it was damaged due to abuse.

It's the drop. If it's too low, it will change the suspension geometry beyond the point where the the normal factory adjustments for caster/camber have enough range to compensate. I love the dropped look and I had my 220 on links briefly, but it caused so many ride quality and vibration issues I reversed it.
