Changing Mileage default option to something else on start up
Have the 2007 S550 AMG and my question is this. When I start the vehicle it always defaults on the dash back to the mileage being shown. My car now has 75K on the dash and I would prefer it to default to anything else but the mileage option. I know on my brothers E class if you shut the car off say when it's showing navigation or speed it will always stay there. However it doesn't work on the W221 it always reverts back to mileage. I wonder if anyone out there knows a trick or programmer who could make the default maybe the speedometer or navigation on the dash upon start up.

Nobody here??? The computer brains? I just want startup to be on navi or audio instead of always go back to trip. On my brothers e class it will always start up with what you left off on. Will the dealer be able to default to navi

Ya i have the 07 it doesn't do that it always reverts back to trip when I turn the car off. I have tried everything hitting ok before turn off under Navi but it always goes back to trip. Would someone be able to recode it to default back to navi? I think after like 2010 they figured out to keep it where you turned it off at.

Haha maybe a little OCD. But I'll tell you something everyone loves the car and when someone gets in they always wanna look over and check my mileage to judge the cars value. I may be crazy but I swear people always do this. I want it to just start up at the navi screen. Do you think the dealer has the capability to do this?

All someone needs to do is pull your door handle while your car is parked and locked and they can see what mileage is on your vehicle. I will admit that does feel a little bit like an invasion of privacy.

I don't mind that much I would just prefer that it start up on the music or navi feature everytime as I actually use them. Do you think this is something that can be done? Someone who knows how the computer system
Works could change the default setting.

Yeah, I don't think that's a high demand feature or something you're going to find someone interested in doing.
I don't mind anyone seeing the mileage (also 70k) because the car is in such good shape it's sort of a point of pride for me how well it's been maintained.
However, you could go to a Spencer's at the mall and get one of those realistic rubber dog turds and leave it on the passenger floor board. Then I guarantee your guests won't be looking at your odometer when the car starts.
