Battery Charger/Power Supply
I am seeking information on a charger/power source for the car like what is used in the MB shop. I want to be able to do things like upgrade the NAV data without starting up the car - i.e. running on ACC and not draining the battery all the way down. I have heard it requires a very clean power supply/charger?
Any suggestions?

There are a range of CITEK chargers (same as sold by MB, but a bit cheaper).
You should be able to find one that suits your power needs.
Sold on Amazon, I believe.

Thanks everyone for the inputs, I have found out that the Mercedes Version is none other than the:
CTEK Multi US 3300 re-badged by Mercedes.
I was looking around and then I bumped into the CTEK website and they had an even more powerful charger :
CTEK 56-674 Battery Charger
So now i am debating which one I will putchase.

I've got this 25 A model. I use it when performing diagnosis or updating maps etc. The maintenance charger is not sufficient to compensate the current drain when ignition is on but the engine is not running. Then again, this 25 A model is not good for a maintenance charger, to keep the battery full when the car is parked (ignition off). That is why I actually have another CTEK, a 4 A model.

I traded email with a CTEK rep and he indicated that for what I want to do either the 7002 or the 25000 will work as they both provide a steady 13.2V to a load. He kept providing more and more detail as to why the 7002 was better for this purpose as it has more cable options whereas the 25000 is hardwired for the battery cable connection. whereas the 7002 can use both the battery connection and the lighter socket.
"The 25000 has much heavier gauge cables, so it cannot be used with the accessories due to the high amperage flow. I would think most vehicles would not have wiring to cigarette lighters heavy enough to handle the load, either.
Unless you expect situations where you need a very low battery recharged in a hurry, the 7002 will be a very good charger for you."
Since I already have a Sears Battery Charger/Starter that can also provide enough of a jolt to start most cars - I use it for quick deep discharge work on other vehicles - no way on the Benz
I think the 7002 is probably good enough, but I know the 25000 is better for this task.. But they both are not very expensive. the 7002 being ~ $107, and the 25000! $212.
