As some of you are aware, out of sheer boredom I occasionally engage an internet scammer to see how far I can get with them. Here's a spam email I received this morning and our correspondence.

(This scam involves convincing the mark to allow a 3rd party to deposit money into bank account, with the promise that he can keep some of the money as a fee for his services. The mark receives the funds, deposits them and then withdraws most of the money and sends it by wire to an offshore account. The deposit is later determined by the bank to be no good, the mark owes the bank the full value of the deposit and the money wired offshore is gone for good.

We have a freight forwarder who will handle the shipment after payment but their policy is we should prepay the shipping cost provided by them along with the cost of the products to you and you pay them when they come for the pick up or they provide their bank details. Thanks for your reply, We are located in California and our customer in Australia requested for your products and before we proceed are you okay with our freight forwarder policy stated in my previous message ( by paying you cost of the goods with shipping cost quoted by them and when they come for the pickup they will receive the shipping cost from you) What I mean is that We will handle the shipping by prepaying you the shipping cost provided by our freight forwarder and products cost ahead on our credit card then you will have to pay the shipping company the freight costs when they arrive for pickup or they provide their bank account. Dave, I'd just like to point out that bleeding from a colonoscopy is extremely rare. Also, colonoscopies are typically performed by a trained medical professional in a properly equipped facility, and not behind the dumpster at Applebees by a homeless man with a broom handle and a flashlight. Didn't it seem odd that he never asked for your health insurance information?

That's all hearsay and speculation.

Generally, during a "legitimate" colonoscopy the practitioner will not offer to perform a "reach around" for an extra $10. Also, the results of your colonoscopy will be presented on the lab's letterhead, and not written in Sharpie on the back of an "Anytizers" appetizer menu insert.
