Laid Up Bad!
So I went in last Monday for an outpatient back surgery and woke up in ICU with a spinal fluid drain and instructions to lay perfectly flat for 5 days. Something got tore up that they'd usually fix with some stitches but the thing kept tearing so they did a graft and the temporary drain.
Meanwhile, the back drain compressed a bunch of nerves that went completely numb, including half my junk and my butt. So now when I want to take a leak I have to shove a tube up my shlong. Self catheterizing is very close to the feeling I get when I go to the MB Service cashiers window. 4x a day.
Urologist saw me and just handed me a bag of free caths and told me to expect it could last for a few months. Everybody thinks it's temporary but if it's not, somebody's medical malpractice insurance is buying me an s600 Maybach with a custom urinal. I'm serious. (Maybe not about the urinal)
Needless to say I haven't driven yet (was on Oxy) but I do like to just sit in the S and play the radio. It's really a beautiful car and I take it for granted. I'm not inclined to trade it like I was thinking before the surgery.
Anyway, the actual point of the thread was to apologize to some guys here who I genuinely like but for some reason couldn't stop being a dick towards, namely Dave and ATC.
Life is too short to treat people that way over stupid stuff, so I'm sorry. Feel free to make fun of the fact I can only feel half my pecker, because I certainly would.
Oh and if anyone is contemplating a surgery of any kind and you hear the rate of serious complications is 3% or 5% that's true, but remember that 3 or 5 represents actual people of which you could become.

Wish you the best in the road to recovery. Sounds painful & hope it all goes well.
I just got back from from a 90 min drive round trip drive in the S to drop off some items at my in laws and the S is really a comfy and spirited freeway cruiser. My daily is a mini van and the driving feeling is just 180 degrees. The S is the wife's dd and she says use the S, it more comfy😄.

You are in my prayers. A friend had a similar leak post spine surgery. They went back 4 weeks later and repaired the leak. Complications developed from the leak repair were different from yours and were extremely serious but after 2 procedures, all cleared up now and 100% back to normal. PM me for my cell and we can visit on my friends details.

So today my 21 year old came by to hang out with the old man and he took me out in the S to run some errands. I haven't walked more than 10 steps in s row. Great to be out in the car and walking around again but I'm sore as hell now. It's a good sore though since its in all of the "dead" areas. Like the man said, pain means you're alive.
Oh and some pee came out the regular way tonight. That's a victory.

Wish u speedy recovery, I had my hip replaced in January at 35 yrs old ..it sucked not being able to get around. Unfortunately I also learned what a catheter felt like. My prayers are with you. Actually kinda what landed me in the Benz I had been browsing before the surgery as soon as I could hobble around with my cane I found the car I had previously wanted hobbled to the dealer and drove it home.
