How would a 2007 S600 drive?
I'm looking at buying a 2007 S600. I understand all of the details about getting it inspected by a good Mercedes mechanic, and checking to see if any expensive service is going to be due soon after buying.
What I don't understand is how well the S600 drives. I drove a recent vintage Lexus LS460, and it drove like an old fashioned Cadillac. Luxo-barge with globs of body roll.
I'm not looking for a sports car, but I want a car that corners without rolling. Kind of like an Audi A6 or a BMW. Or a Lexus with a handling package.
Can someone tell me how an S600 rides? Is it a heavy, luxo-barge made for 80 year old dead people, or does it corner like an Audi?
If the 600 ends up driving like a standard LS460, it's not for me.
Thanks

It's a big heavy car with a V12 stuffed in the front end. Buy an E or C class instead......

With abc there will be no body roll. Zero. Nada.
Engine will be buttery smooth and brakes will be powerful but mushy. There is a layer of insulation between you and everything the car does.
I agree you should drive one and see for yourself.

I used to own an LS460. I've had my S600 since November and can tell you absolute certainty that the closest comparison between the two cars is the interior quietness. The Mark Levinson system sounds much better than the Harmon Kardon. Other than that, the S600 blows it out of the water. From materials to execution of everything, the S600 owns the LS460. The car handles very well with 20" rims and cornering is perfectly flat. The motor is day and night different from the LS. It is smoother and MUCH faster. Gas mileage is about 3-4 mpg worse...but what would you expect from a car that has 510 hp stock and 613 lb/ft of torque? Reliability wise, the LS blows it out of the water. But the S has a presence that the LS can't come close too.

Depends on the weather
I bought mine from a private party and they gave me the keys and didn't even ask to see my license or anything. I don't know anyone who has ever bought a car with out test driving it.
