Driverside Rear Shade inoperable??
Anyone experience this before? I was in Canada recently and the Border Patrol officer asked me to let the rear shades down and then I realized that the driver side rear shade was inoperable.

I can't help with your problem but as a constant border crosser I always wondered what the hell the guard expects to find in the back seat - a pile of C-4, Osama's latest and greatest friend a W 222. What are they looking for?

Driver side rear shade inop.
Had same problem on my 2010 S-550. Dealer replaced the motor that drives the shade 6/19/2015, problem solved.

Part costs
Previously I purchased parts (known to be bad) from a Mercedes dealer in GA.
Goggle genuine mercedes benz parts and you can type in vehicle info and get a retail and internet cost of the part needed. And buy from them at the internet price. My local dealer will no longer accept clients providing their own part for repair/ replacement. Dealer part prices in PR are 20-100% more then stateside retail/internet prices. So obviously dealer was losing money if client supplied part. Tropical |
Part Costs Expanded
Found some old paper work. RBM of Atlanta, at www.rbmnorth.com to order parts on internet.

I HATE when you go to the dealer for warranty work and it never shows what the cost would have been without warranty!
