OBD Code: P2734 Pressure Ctrl Sol F Electrical
Guys,
I have an 07 S550. The car isn't accelerating as usual when in gear. It sound as if the car is stuck in the first gear. The engine light came on. I connected my OBD tool and it gave me the code below:
P2734 Pressure Ctrl Sol F Electrical
Any suggestions as to what the problem might be? what needs be replaced? Thanks guys, ill greatly appreciate any help.

Depends on the weather
Sounds like one of the solenoids in the transmission...does it happen as soon as you start the car or after it's been running and heats up to temp? This would explain the shifting problem.

Bingo. That's why I asked if it does it after reaching operating temps. Yes, they will have to pull the tranny. You'll need to find a reputable shop to do it.
Some shops will tell you that a rebuild is necessary as damage could be done already but you won't know until they pull it and open it up. Some shops won't even open it and will tell you to replace it...just find a good shop whatever you do.

Also, is there are DIY on how to replace the solenoid. Im pretty handy, i have time, and i usually fix everything myself. I also have an abundance of tools. How difficult is the job? thanks

Thanks Konigstiger, so does the whole control module need to be replaced, or can i just the K2 Clutch Solenoid (y3/8y3) alone to resolve the DTC P2734 issue? Thanks.

The problem is not so much replacing the solenoid but sourcing tha part in the first place. I'm almost positive that Mercedes does not sell the solenoid separately but will demand the purchase of the whole separator plate. While changing the plate is possible for a DIYer, programming the plate to the EIS etc is beyond most peoples ability.
This is a job that is almost always done by the dealer. Expect to pay somewhere north of $1400 if it needs replacing. I just went through this with mt '05 CLK 500. MY EIS was not compatible with new plate and had to be replaced, add another $800. And "the beat goes on".

I am not sure how much of a difference there is between the W220 5 speed and the W221 7 speed tranny but if you look on the W220 forum the conductor plate in the tranny is a common failure point. This is a DIY project and you do not have to remove the tranny to change it. As part of the swap you have to remove the solenoids and put them into the new conductor plate. There are also videos on you-tube. I have replaced it on my car. The trick will be knowing which solenoid to replace. I suggest you put it on a lift to do this work. Replacement of the plate does not require any reprogramming of the EIS at least on the W220 since it is like replacing a wire.

First page of attachment: “Do not remove or replace any components of this assembly – only replace as a complete unit”.

right. the german way.
now, drop the pan, remove valve block, identify offending solenoid, remove - confirm dead, then buy off ebay any 7g tranny conduit plate, remove corresponding solenoid, clean solenoid screen with a small magnet and install in your conduit plate.
total cost - $250 (or whatever you manage to ****** the conduit plate off ebay) plus the cost of the atf, filter, gasket and bolts

Why? The uniqueness of each valve block is in the casting variations which result in different parameters written in the conduit plate flash. That is why each valve block is bench flown at the factory and unique values are written in the conduit plate i.e. Both are mated together. By comparison the solenoids are few kinds, but each kind is identical across all valve blocks. Thus the solenoid you will pouch from your donor plate will be identical to the dead one on your old plate.
