New (to me) 2007 S600. Quick question.
Greetings all.
Quite a car, always wanted one, finally got an example with less than 30K on the clock but has one issue.
Has multi-contour seats, however when trying to adjust fronts with COMAND it only shows a single lumbar setting that won't stick. The back seats also do not operate with the lumbar switches.
All other switches (movement, memory, ventilation, heating, etc.) works.
I'm assuming this is a CANBUS issue? It seems it is thinking standard seats are installed in the vehicle.

Yikes. That's the kind of thing you want to iron out before you stroke the check. I have to believe the 600 came standard with the multicontour seats but I've seen a lot of 07-09 221's that had just the lumbar. (It may have a leaking lumbar bladder which is why the settings wont keep.) Are you sure it has the MC seats (like with a VIN check or something). On the S550 from 07-09 I believe the car had to have a P3 package to get those seats. It became standard in a P1 from 2010 on.

I have the build sheet, it says it has it. Rear seat console has a row switches for adjustment. So I'm fairly certain I have it.
In my intro post I should have offered a little more information about myself. I went into this eyes wide opened. I've studied the flaws, repair techniques, compared versions, etc. I'm a fairly good DIY type guy that isn't afraid to tackle just about anything.
With that said, if I read the WIS instructions and step one says "Remove Engine" I'm getting too old for that stuff. I wouldn't have purchased this vehicle if I didn't have an exclusionary warranty in the works. I know to play, you need to pay.
Anyways, I hope to contribute to the community.
If someone could point out a "reputable" source for a knock-off Star diagnostic setup I'd appreciate it.

Check the battery. I had issues with my seats that turned out to be a low AUX battery (the second one, not the main one that starts the car). After replacing I had to drive a few times for the seats (massage/active/lumbar) to work again.

Check any normalisations like utter front position and and back: I just had my W221 for a day or two and had it with a plastic casino token stuck between the rail of the driverseat and could not get it to the max rear position: it refused to remember any multi-contour setting, when I removed the darn token and I could get the seat into utmost rear position everything worked just fine after that!
