Navigation update V15.0 for 2007-2009 vehicles

2015-2016 Mercedes-Benz NTG3 DVD v15.0 is now available.

Part number T1000-23920

Unfortunately the web site states the following: "This Mercedes-Benz navigation map update is the final release for this platform" This is disturbing considering Mercedes reputation of providing support for their vehicles regardless of age.

Not to be a stickler, but once MB dropped map support for my 1990 420SEL, I decided they didn't care about me as a consumer, and I started buying Kias.

You're not losing much. The annual update DVDs needs go the way of the 8 track tapes. The navigation updates have been disappointing at best. My last update was a couple years ago to V.14 I think. When I saw that I still had out of date or missing POI's, I wanted to complain to Mercedes. So I contacted MBUSA and I got the standard corporate we're sorry BS. They then pointed me to a site called HERE.COM. Here.com looks to be like it was a creation of Nokia which was then acquired by Microsoft a few years ago. I remember signing up for access to the forums on the site. From the posts on the site there were folks in Germany complaining about missing roads not shown on the Here.com site. My main issue with the COMAND maps is that some stores that have been around for 10 years are not showing up. They show Albertson's grocery stores in one of the cities in CA and I'm pretty sure Albertson's all but exited the market and changed their names to something else. A hotel I frequented for business in Southern California still didn't show up after being around for 20 years. IMO they (Nokia, Here, Mercedes, whomever) should just cede the maps business to Google Maps for navigation with realtime traffic on all Mercedes cars. I think mbrace on the newer models is a step in the right direction, but from what I understand with mbrace you send an address from Google Maps to the COMAND. The navigation still doesn't run off Google Maps.
