Anyone know what service C cost?
Apparently I'm due of Service C, so before I schedule an appointment with the stealer, does anyone know how much this service runs?

Sounds like an oil change and brake fluid flush. 600 bucks from an indy, probably 8-9 hundred at the stealership. Brake bleeds are easy, how hard is it to change the oil in these pigs.

This question is asked a lot. I'm surprised I haven't seen a concise explanation. IMO, I think it's a relic of the Mercedes Flexible Service System (FSS) back in the day. I've attached a maintenance book for your MY2013. I would just go by the mileage of the vehicle and see what required services are needed on top of the oil and filter change. As for pricing, stealerships just offer a glorified oil change A service $250, or if you don't know how to change a $40 cabin filter, get it done with an oil change with B service for $450.
Cost of services at my stealership are as follows...
Brake fluid exchange $180
Transmission fluid and filter $600
Coolant flush $150
ABC system $950
These would be in addition to the oil change cost. The crazy thing is I know another Mercedes dealer that charges $125 for an A service and $250 for a B service. Take 15% off for an independent shop. Prices will vary, but I hope this price comparison helps.

I just scheduled with the dealer, they said it's a glorified service A and that the services just rotate A,B,C,D. So service A and C and service B and D are primarily the same. They stated that on the newer models it's only A & B service to avoid the rotation.
However, KNBS550 is abolutely correct! They just add additional things such as brake fluid service etc according to the mileage on the vehicle.
Anyway, they quoted me $195.00 for the C service. I am also inquiring about my rear driver side shade that is inoperable.

the letter corresponds to the number of hours the service requires - ie - service "a" - 1 hour, service "c" - 3 hours.
the mileage service booklet is a guideline. the letter of the service is calculated based on what subservices are required as per the engineering menu in the instrument cluster.
thus - service "c" is not always oil change + air filters + cabin filter. it can be any and all of the above +/- other things as calculated by the instrument cluster. when a "service soon" is displayed if you go into the engineering menu you will see a list of the requested services (1 through 16 but that number will vary based on the model). based on what is requested the overall service letter is calculated and requested

I thought b service was at 40k miles no? I don't think it really matters I think at 40k they do the trans flush. I know mine was done early at 35k miles when I got it cpo.

alx, how does the A/B/C/D nomenclature fit in with the Service 1, 2, 3,...20 that I've seen used for the W221? Rather I should ask, what was MB thinking with so many different designations for service??? I have received the attached form, filled out by the Service Tech, from the Mercedes Service Advisor even on an A service. I figured you might know?

The numbers correspond to how many times the car has gone in for service. For example, under normal circumstances, it should have been serviced about 8 times by the time 60k miles rolls around....if you're following the scheduled maintenance plan in the book. The next service would then be service 9, and a letter(s) would be assigned to that service so you know what it's due for. Of course, this likely doesn't account for wear items like tires and brakes.
Once the car goes in for service the tech will look in the cluster what services are actually requested and execute them.

Apparently I was due for service "B", lol. In any event they only changed the oil.
Thanks for the replies.

Lol... No. The servce number (1-16) is just the set of services that can be performed on your car. The actual service and corresponding number are listed in your user manual. For example service "C" might call for service 1,2,4... Service "F" might call for 1,2,4,7,16, etc. it varies so don't take literally the numbers I have given here.
