Ugly orange side markers!!!

what do you guys have ? Been noticing my orange side markers are kinda ugly. whats the best option for nice looking ones? depo clears?

Mike5215 04-01-2016 12:29 PM

What color is your car again?

xpl0sive 04-01-2016 01:06 PM

I was considering LED ones off ebay, cause one of my stock orange ones was cracked. But for $60USD, it wasn't worth it for me. I went to Mercedes and bought a new orange one for $25CAD.
I think you have a facelift car, so you may consider something like these

clear LED

smoked LED

smoked non LED

I swapped to clear last year and replaced the stock bulb with orange. Works perfect.

Mike5215 04-01-2016 02:42 PM

I think they look best when they are as unobtrusive as possible. I did straight smoke on my black S and they pretty much disappeared, which cleaned up the front fender a lot.

I would go with a clear with orange LED on a white car. clear will blend in the best.

Mike5215 04-01-2016 03:17 PM

Or just plain clear.

Bulb uses 194/T10. You can stick with your stock halogen bulb, or upgrade to LED bulb. If LED, it'll need to be Canbus unit.

T.H.Carrera 04-01-2016 03:32 PM

is the stock orange behind the orange reflector ?

AZN ho much is the canbus orange led one you selling?

No, behind the orange reflector is a basic halogen bulb that lights up pale white.

We have canbus LEDs that can light up amber, soft white, pure white, and white with a slight bluish hue.

These retail $19/set.

T.H.Carrera 04-01-2016 06:17 PM

Now that i think about it, dont think amber will look good behind smoked marker. What color do you recommend or just leave stock halogen with smoke reflector.

Donnymac 04-01-2016 09:04 PM

I used a Chrome Amber bulb. Dime a dozen on eBay Amazon. Nothing special. I would bet AZN has the size right. I can't check size till next week.

1bad540 04-02-2016 10:08 AM

Yea ill chk today, I think straight clear will look best, blend w the clear in the headlight sides.

Donnymac 04-02-2016 11:28 AM

Agree totally. I went clear w chrome bulb so no orange shows till you need it. Smoke on a dark color yes. On white no plus you get your headlight blend. Done deal.

You can also use blackout Laminex, which is glossy, I used that on my s class front logo, (the one that can’t be painted because it has an internal device)

I have a black car, and went with the smoked LED style. I had a choice of white or amber(orange) LED's and went with amber to keep it stock looking (white seems a bit too "rice" on a classy car like a W221)

Markers disappear into the bumpers completely. At night they light up with amber LED 'dots' in the upside-down L shape that is on most new MB's

Looks like this when on, but not nearly as bright as this pic. All you see is black with a bunch of orange dots, not sure why this pic is so bright

Looks like this when off

ebay. came with a silver finish (orange bulb) so that the color of the bulb in not visible in the off position. It is nice while off, however when on the color is more of a faded orange look. IMO not strong enough. Might look into LED bulb just to add brightness.

Silver paint will eventually flake off over time. We've had many customers upgrade to our Amber LEDs which are canbus enabled for error free operation. Optically clear, Amber color.
