2010 s550 opinion
Hello all. I have a chance to buy a 2010 s550 that has less than 20000 miles. But before I look into it further, I wanted to ask about other people's experiences were with this particular year or is there something I should look for or avoid. Thanks in advance!!!

Good year, first of the face lifted cars, tons of features in the P1 package, no specific issues other than those that plague all 221s... AirMatic failures, and the usual variety of insanely expensive repairs for small stuff. My last repair ticket for my 2010 was $6,000. All covered by CPO warranty thankfully.
With low miles like that it should be no problem to pick up a 3rd party warranty. A warranty on these is a must. I've owned three S Class, trust me on this.

Price was not listed. Have to call for the price. Was for sale at a friend's workplace. He read me the details. I didn't want to call if it is a problematic year or something like that.

I would call them and get a price and what options it has. Also ask if they have the service records. Maybe also ask the age of the tires. Could be an added expense.

Priced at $41k but the extended warranty was way high. Over $11k. What 3rd party warranty companies would everyone recommend???
Either that or I'll try looking at a later model one that is still under warranty or a CPO.

from my experience on all makes your 99% better off getting a cpo car, most of the time you can get it for a very similiar price. I paid not a huge amount more for a diamond white s550 almost 2 yerars ago at benz dealer cpo'd.

My credit union gave me 4 years/48k miles for $3,700. It's through National Auto Care. Platinum package covers everything except tires and brakes. Call them 1-800-548-1875. See what they say.
