abs and esp inoperative

changed front strut and the turn the wheel trick doesn't work... help please
Everything was OK before I replaced the strut....

Inspect carefully the wire harnesses around the strut you replaced.

Ideally you want the car read to find out what the culprit is. My guess is you forgot to plug in something/ tore a wire/ etc...

Also I still have the yellow vehicle lift fault light on.... but when I push the button to raise and lower it works but the fault's are still there

chances are the speed sensor for that specific wheel was not plugged back in properly or is broken. when one speed sensor is not working it disables the abs system. so check that speed sensor.
but to save u a lot of stress, take it to a mechanic with any diagnostic tool thats capable and you will know the cause of your problem much faster than guessing.

Intermittent ABS and ESP Inoperative Message

1 Attachment(s)
I receive the "ABS and ESP inoperative" message intermittently, a couple weeks on and a couple weeks off, for a few months now.

I don't mind hitting OK and driving on but would bring it to a dealer if there is a safety issue. Is there a safety issue here?

Yes. Dormant abs / esp module can have a profound effect on your ability to maintain control- especially in adverse conditions.

I never really understood how one can clearly see that there's an issue with one of the systems designed specifically to keep you alive and just drive off like nothing happened.

Here's a story - I've had the error come up. Drove right to the shop. Turns out the relay was stuck and the pump was constantly running. Imagine if I left it overnight. From what I know, rebuilding is not exactly cheap.

So yeah, that's one you don't want to keep ignoring, regardless of your specific issue. The danger you pose to yourself and others on the road is another topic.

Sounds like a safety issue so I'll get it checked out, thank you

Hello everybody
I'm experience the same problem with the ESP and Cruise Control inoperative message i changed the speed sensor b4 but i was able to get the ABS light off only I"be bring it to the shop numerous times and they said that I need to do a drive cycle which i'm not sure if that's the answer i'm personally on the mission to find the problem i'm not giving up I'm going to check everything from top to bottom if I figure it out I'll definitely let you know cause it can get expensive if you keep going to the shop. I have another issue my battery probably need changing but just wanted to ask b4 I go and buy a battery, have anyone experience this problem with their S550, both my low beam headlights is not staying on when I turn on the car they flicker then shut down could that be because I need to change my battery.
