abc pump whinning noise Please help
Started happen shortly after hitting parking spot block. the car rides fine. no shakes, no leakes. car height is level and goes up and down with switch. Just an anoying whinning sound. mechanic said i need new pump. $900. Internet research suggest acculator. Also found maybe the lines are rubbing on chassis? Thank you everyone for their time.

Second - the pump accumulator is faulty. New one costs about 300EUR and dealer in Poland take about 300EUR for replacement (engine mount has to be released, pump unscrewed, moved down, then can access accumulator. Additionally I recommend to do full oil change + filter (+200EUR oil + filter)

There are two accumulators- one in the front and one in the back. They usually have no bearing on the pump functionality. All they do is dampen hydraulic spikes when the suspension moves over the road. A pump whine is just that- pump thinking when to quit

As others have said, there's even a MB TSB telling dealers not to replace pumps but to try this first.

Is "Ruby" an ABC car? Pulsation damper is for ABC system only.

@lionsfan54 i just looked in my engine room and i assume the part that i cycled in red is the on I need to replace.
Does it look the same in your car. There seems to be very little clearance between the part and the pump above it.
Not sure I can wiggle it out from there
Thanks again

that's the correct part, but it looks like you have the V8. Our cars are V12's and it comes out easily. I'm not sure if you have the same clearance on yours. It does look tight.

Quick look-up in WIS shows having to remove pump to replace damper. Seems like a lot of work to replace a part that is staring you in the face! There has to be a work around such as loosening the pump and tipping it down for room to remove the damper. I would suggest perusing some of the other forums with models that have the ABC option. I think I have read in the W220 forum of members that have remove a bolt or two to allow the pump be tilted. I know that the M113 and M273 V8's are different but the principal might work.
Good luck,
Bob

See attachments. I am using a program that I purchased on ebay. I couldn't afford to own an MB without it! See here for an example.

Interesting that they saw the ABC fluid fill is 4 liters. I always thought it was 10?

Approximately 4L fluid capacity but system requires aprox. 10 liters to do flush. See attachment. If you do not have a STAR/DAS setup then flushing is still doable by using the raise lower function to exercise the suspension while adding fresh fluid. That's how I did my R230 and many others do it that way as well. Changing to the 3 micron filter is also necessary although your car may be new enough to where it already has the updated spec filter. If the fluid has never been changed, then I would flush this time and then replace the filter more often see attachment.
As an aside, I have my WIS/EPC program on my desk top computer so I can do research away from the garage.. You will need a lot of disc space ie 150 GB or so free to install the program discs. I print out the instructions I need for each project to use in my garage before starting.
I also have a STAR/DAS system as well on a laptop for diagnostics. Strangely, I haven't really needed it (knock on wood) that often but it is nice to have for insurance. At dealership hourly rate of $150/hour, I'd be broke in no time!
Good luck,
Bob

That helped some and here is some more detail. You need to pop this metal piece out of its rubber ring (I used a flat head and just pried a little, it came right out)
zoomed in
Once you free that, the metal shield can be held clear of the reservoir, allowing you to unscrew the cap/filter carrier
