2007 S550 Hazard Lights not working

I just bought a 2007 S550 and of all things I didn't check before purchasing is the Hazard Lights (assumed they worked properly). Does anybody know the fuse/relay location (which fuse box) and number so I can check it before going to dealer? Absolutely nothing happens when the Hazard button is pressed.

Thanks in advance

Anyone got a fix for this? Having the same issue

this isnt a fuse or relay issue, the console needs to be replaced. a2218707058 is one of the part numbers. do not buy this from the dealer as its $800, i bought mine on ebay for $170

So this problem has returned, and this time it seems like replacing the whole console isn’t fixing it. I’ve bought three different console switches from eBay and none of them had a functional hazard button. I would think it’s very unlikely all three have the same broken button, so what else could this be?

unless spilt fluid (coffee) trashes it easily ? did u ever try contact cleaner and operating it a few times

I removed the whole trim in front (cup holder and ashtray) today and the gunk underneath was a surprise

if you have normal working indicators there's not much wrong on the wiring side or the lamp units....

Fluid was the culprit last time this happened, for sure. Replacing it with a used ebay console resolved it. I don’t believe fluid was involved this time, as I’ve tried 3 different eBay units to no avail.

I’ve disassembled every piece of molding and trim on this car multiple times and always give it a quick clean to keep it from getting unacceptably filthy. As for the indicators, they function just fine.

I will certainly try some contact cleaner because..why not? But I’m confident that will not fix the non working switch. Do you have any other suggestions?

this is what my cheapo tablet scanner had to say. Ignore the footwell error as that’s from my custom ambient lighting which works just fine. The second error is interesting as it mentions incorrect version although it’s worked perfectly for several years.

re those two faults.... the upper control panel (UCP) is the heater buttons (for want of an informative name...) did someone remove and not reconnect fully ?

FYI the roof module (to use a decent name) is the overhead control panel (OCP)

check this post for how and what gets upset on the canbus stuff in the passenger foot-well and around the AC module - start particularly with post#33 and have a quick check on your car - if its looking scary check post #22

https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...drains-do.html

the wrong version of the COU comand knob switch panel isn't going to help - the weirdness of canbus and how it throws its teddies for fun is part of the issue - canbus networking is bad enough with ropey connectors and bad software when you buy the car new - add in 15 years of corrosion and then fit incorrect components means you shouldn't expect it to now send usable drivel around the car
