Raising car with floor jack.
Need to check the brakes on my S600. First off, is there a switch to turn off the suspension? Don’t see anything about it in the owners manual or WIS. Second, if you raise the car at the jack points, where do you place jack stands front and rear? And third, is a 3,000 pound jack strong enough?

MB raises these cars without disabling anything. I have done the same with Air Suspension W220 S430 and W221 S550.
I put a square 4x4 block on my jack and raise it either by the metal jack point in the front or rear Differential in the back. Then I put the jack stand under both sides and slowly lower the car (I also use plywood on the jackstands) and leave the jack slightly on with Jackstands taking most of the weight.
If I crawl under the car I also put it on ramps as a 3rd safety measure.
If the jack stand fails > Jack and ramps are my 2nd/3rd safeties. For taking the wheel off/inspection of brakes I would feel comfortable enough with Jack Stand only.
