S600 Drivers Door Sensor

S600 Drivers Door Sensor
My 2007 S600 has forgotten it has a drivers door. When I open the door the interior lights don’t come on and no notification the door is open. Also the soft close function doesn’t work. The drivers door handle sensor and locking functions work as they should. In fact, everything works except knowing when the door is open/closed and soft close. I’ve looked for a door switch in the door jam and cannot find one. Once in a while it will surprise me and work as it should but that’s very rare. Most of the time the car thinks the door is closed.
Anyone know where this mystery switch is hidden?

Not common, but I have seen the issues once before.. and yes, it does mean replacement of the latch assembly. You can try removing the assembly and messing with it to see if you can access the switch, but generally these things are pretty well sealed up.

Thank you for telling me where to look. I sprayed some electrical contact cleaner all around the inside of the lock mechanism and now it’s working again. I was going to try spray lube but decided on contact cleaner instead and so far so good. Going to do the rest of the doors next.
Thanks!
