looking at a 2012 s550 4matic
Price seems to good to be true;
https://portland.craigslist.org/nco/...530687933.html
Haven't done a Carfax yet, just curious if anybody in Portland has looked at this?
It came from Missouri which had some flooding last year (somewhat think the car wasn't in Missouri during this flood, I do have some records on it), so I'm somewhat hesitant and its at somewhat of a sketchy dealer but I did a quick look around the car and it looked ok didn't smell weird or anything. Didn't have the time to do a good checkup on it. So before I head back I was just checking to see if anybody has anything on this car.
Odd thing is that he said make an offer was thinking even if the car was marginal 20k might not be a bad deal.
Anyway thanks for any responses.

At 70K in mileage this car could eat you alive in maint and break fix work. Knowing the history on maintenance is very important with these cars. I doubt the dealer would knock 6K off the price so 20K is probably optimistic. If you want a creampuff 2012 Elliott Bay Motors up in Seattle has a 2012 for 32K with 50K miles. I know it is a cream puff because I traded it to them for my 2015 S class. I was religious about maint and warranty work as it was under MB warranty until I traded it. Perfect shape with nothing wrong with it, still have all the paperwork on it. I would guess if you walked in with 29K they would sell it.

Looks like nicely equipped car. See attached Data Card . Pricing is about trade-in value per Kelly Bluebook so not sure what the dealer paid for it. NHTSA also shows no problems reported. Pricing almost seems to good to be true!
Good luck,
Bob

thanks overall I think I'm going to do it, does seems to good to be true but I'm going to gamble... If it costs me 10k to fix the problems I still won't complain for love of god this is an s class . Going to offer 22k what can they say, no; ouch that really hurts - not.

Hate to say it but the potential is far more than 10K. It will be death by 1000 dollar cuts. If you are going to buy this car, I would suggest an aftermarket warranty
