OEM for OEM headlight swap - need to be programmed?

I'm replacing my OEM 2007 headlights with another set of OEM 2007 headlights. Since they are from the same year and car, is it just plug and play? Or, do I still need a dealer to program them?

thanks

Do the new ones have the same features?
- Night vision yes/no
- Adaptive Lighting yes/no
- LHD or RHD

Yes, the new lights have the exact same features as what I have now (Night Vision, LHD, Adaptive lighting)

I recently got a new set of Automotive Lighting headlights for my 2007 and they weren't plug and play. They work fine but I get a "Active headlamps inoperative" error because they need to be coded. I have night vision which works and cornering lights which do not work. You may have a similar problem but you can try using the same controller that was on your lights to prevent that from happening.

Argh, mine are "Automotive Lighting" too! I will try swapping my controller and seeing what happens.

If you use the same controller there shouldn't be an issue because the coding is specific to the controller plus the car. You can only get the coding for a new set of lights via Star with an online account. The message for me is annoying but I never really noticed the cornering illumination work in the year I've had the car prior to getting the new lights. I'm still getting all of the "functionality" that I got before but better since the lights are new so the coding to remove the message isn't worth me paying over $100.

And I assume the controllers are those small, metal boxes under the light?

PS, my cornering lights work, but they're a gimmick and I'd never miss them if they weren't there.

Just to update my own situation...

I used Vediamo to code the headlights after getting a quote of $169 from the dealer and a quote of $250 from an indy to code the headlights.
