Signs your 2007-2009 Consumer Battery may need replacing.
My 2007 S550 was in a minor accident(bumper damage and broken headlight) and as a result I didn't drive it for a couple of months. One day the car refused to open with the remote and I had to use the metal key to open the car and it started right up. Drive around a bit and things seemed fine. I got the car repaired and the convenience function that adjusts the seat and steering wheel for you to exit and when you start the car was working intermittently as was the automatic trunk opening and closing. Replacing the consumer battery, which was 7 years old, fixed all of those gremlins.

I still have original consumer battery in my 2007 CL550 which I purchased new in November 2006. Starter battery was replaced in 2014. Has anyone else had it last this long?

I had my 08 S550 consumer battery replaced last year for the first time, not because the battery was bad but I didn't want to deal with any issue down the line.
For starter battery, I had to replace it in 2016, but it went dead again last week, I guess it's just luck of the draw.
Also, I didn't go with MB starter battery since it only had 2 years warranty where as Autozone's Duralast Gold Battery carries 5 years warranty and about $50 less

Has anyone noticed a consumer battery past its can cause misfires (particularly on an M275)?
