steering wheel leather
Has anyone ever tried replacing the leather on the steering wheel on a W221? The left hand side of my wheel is showing some wear and it really bothers me on my 65.

That's super hard to do. I work with a factory where I can do a new wheel, and then you send in your old wheel after you get new one. OR, if this isn't your daily driver, you can send in your existing wheel and can replace the leather for you.

I'd like to know also, and about what is the turn-around time?

If you have a spare wheel then it's easier as you'll stil be able top drive TO re-do all the leather, and you can even pick the stitching color, $275.

I did that for my W211 beige steering wheel, I went to high-end car upholstery shop and he did it for almost $150, that was 4 years back and it still looks great.
It is to hard for DIY, so take it to a specialist.
