What is the best aftermarket backup camera
I finally got my navtv backup camera interface installed correctly and the camera I bought from eBay is so so. The first problem is that it has the guide park lines (distance / width ) and since the command unit already has them I now have 2 sets of them which is annoying and pointless. The second issue is that it doesn’t really give you the best picture vertically or horizontally as the view seems to be cut off so you don’t get a whole picture and the camera states it’s 170 degree width view. I am figuring that the pitch of the camera angle mounted flush on the trunk lip isn’t enough to make the camera able to get a better picture. Third and final problem is the fact the camera is isn’t so great at night time. Seems to not have night vision and that’s an option I want as well. With all this said I need a camera that can be shimmed on angle that captures a better verictal and horizontal picture that has night vision and also has the option to remove the parking guidelines that appear on the screen since the command has that. Any suggestions please feel free to respond. Thanks.

Tirgoman,
i actuslly tried to search Echomaster and found a bunch but there wasn’t enough sales or reviews on most. That being said I am going to wait and see what this camera I ordered from amazon turns out to be like.

Go to Amazon and enter Cam-MV6-N and maybe echomaster, if you have prime it's $86.39 with free shipping. It says not avail for free shipping but if you click on other sellers the price goes from $204 to $86 and came from Amazon. Yes it works from or rear, there's a wire you cut to reverse the image. If you just put in echomaster you'll see all styles but I got this one for the widest view. It also had 6 different images but I've not played with them yet. The wider the view the more distorted the view is but it's still clear. Here's a pic of it installed.

That's nice.. I am actually thinking of retrofitting the oem camera. I see that the camera harness has I think 4 wires connected to it. I see a yellow, red, black, and white wire. In theory if I connect the red to power, black to ground, and solder a female rca to the yellow wire coming from the camera . This should be good to go.. I am not sure if its going to work but its worth a shot. The camera I got that I talked about is small like the one you have and I am not sure I like it.

what type FAKRA for COMAND rearview camera connect
I have a 2009 (6/2008 mfg) c300 with COMAND HK stereo. looking at posts about FAKRA-rca adapter cable. Amazon lists a FAKRA Z female and male. Which one is needed for the rearview camera connection? also, I presume MB did not prewire the trunk (where licence plate lite are mounted) for a factory MB rear camera... ebay is selling them with specific connector, as if pre-wired versions. any thoughts?
